About PawOrPass

PawOrPass is an upcoming swipe app for iPhone and Android where every profile is an animal: dogs, cats, horses and more. Swipe right to paw, left to pass. When an owner paws your pet back, it's a match and you can chat. It is made by an independent developer and is coming soon.

Why PawOrPass exists

I built PawOrPass because the best part of meeting someone new is often meeting their animal. Finding a playdate buddy for a dog, a trail partner for a horse or a breeder nearby still means digging through scattered posts. The app puts the animal first: one profile at a time, and a chat when you both paw.

What the app does

  • Paw or pass. Swipe right to paw an animal you love, left to pass.
  • A note with your paw. A paw can carry a short note. Until you match, that note is the only message anyone can send you.
  • Match, then chat. When two people paw each other's pets, it's a match and a chat opens.
  • Filters. Pick the animal, the breed, what you're looking for (playdates, breeders or a new pet) and how far to look, from nearby to the whole country.
  • Breeders. Breeders can list litters and foals.
  • No pet needed to browse. Anyone can swipe and paw. Add a pet when you want to match.

People will use it for playdates, finding breeders and new pets, meeting other owners, or just looking at cute animals. Sometimes a match leads to someone special. For a closer look at the flow, read how the pet matching app works.

What it isn't

  • It isn't affiliated with any other swipe app or pet app.
  • It doesn't check breeders, owners or animals. Every profile is made by the animal's owner, so ask your own questions and meet somewhere public the first time. Our dog playdate checklist covers what to bring and what to watch for.
  • The animals on this website aren't real users. They are sample profiles, and the photos are public domain (CC0).

Launch status

The app is coming soon to iPhone and Android and isn't in the App Store or Google Play yet. We'll post the launch date on this site as soon as it's set. Until then, the swipe demo on the home page shows how pawing and matching feel.
